Caliber is available with the choice of three engines developed as part of the world engine program. Two, four cylinder 16 valve (DOHC) petrol engines, a 1.8 litre petrol with 5 speed manual transmission, this engine is available in S, SE and SXT trim levels.

A 2.0 litre petrol engine with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT),154 bhp, available on SXT and SXT Sport. The new Caliber offers the latest generation of Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) gearbox with an autostick feature. This system allows the engine to provide infinite number of gear ratios keeping the engine at its most efficient operating range.

The final engine in the range is a state of the art 2.0 Diesel with 6 speed manual gearbox, offering outstanding performance and efficiency. A direct injection turbo diesel with high-pressure fuel injection, a variable geometry turbo and four valves per cylinder, available on SE, SXT and SXT Sport.
